Some parts of our work are easier to do than others. Whilst many people view moles as cute and unassuming, the damage they can cause to a beautifully crafted lawn or undermining property cannot be disputed and for those reasons, Moles must be controlled.
Whilst moles conjure up a broad spectrum of feelings and emotions from people, they are one of the more challenging pieces of work we undertake.
We are asked on a regular basis if it’s possible to trap and release moles back into the wild. However, this sadly is not possible as there is at this time no humane trap that can be used underground.
Moles are solitary animals spending the majority of their life underground and are seldom seen above ground. I’m asked on a regular basis about ‘self-help’ methods such as windmills which are supposed to send vibrations through the ground to ward off the moles or a contraption that is supposed to be used underground which emanates a noise pretending to be another mole.
Save your money as these DIY methods seldom work. If they are challenging for us to manage and control then the chances of the man in the street being able to solve this pest problem is practically impossible.
